Reiki explained

Where does Reiki come from?

Energy healing has been around for thousands of years. People in the Western world and modern society have lost most of this natural healing power. In 1850 a Japanese monk called Mikao Usui rediscovered this ancient healing art while studying Buddhism in China he revived it and taught others how to do it. He called it Reiki, meaning "Life Force Energy"

Reiki is a safe and gentle form of healing. There is no manipulation, diagnosis nor medication involved. The Reiki energy that will flow through your body  is completely safe and will actually enhance any other medical therapy.

There have been no reported cases of negative effects from Reiki.

Over 90% of physical and  mental problems are caused by stress. Reiki tackles that stress. It tackles the root of your problem. It helps your body heal itself. No wonder Reiki is gaining popularity worldwide.

What can be treated with Reiki

Physical conditions that benefit from Reiki include chronic pain, headaches, migraines, stomach upsets, back problems, asthma, respiratory problems, menstrual and menopause problems and much more.

It can also help you cope better with health conditions such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, and Crohn disease.

Mental issues that can be helped include anxiety, burnt-out, sleeping problems, bereavement and low self-esteem just to name a few. In fact, any stress-related issue will benefit from this beautiful healing energy.
In Europe and the USA hospitals now offer Reiki as a complimentary therapy. Because Reiki can strengthen the immune system, speed up surgery recovery and  reduce side effects from radiation, chemo therapy and medication.
Please note that Reiki does not substitute medical treatment. While undergoing Reiki treatments please continue seeing your medical doctor and follow their recommendations.

You can learn Reiki for yourself

This is something that sets Reiki apart from many other energy healing therapies.  Reiki is a simple technique, you can learn the basics in a weekend workshops and then apply to yourself.  I encourage my clients to take at least the beginners course (level 1)  so they can practice Reiki on themselves and don't rely on me for their ongoing Reiki treatments.

For me the beauty of Reiki lies in its simplicity. As Leonardo de Vinci already said: : "Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication". That certainly holds true for this elegant healing technique.
